How do I approach individual therapy?
In individual therapy work, I collaborate with my clients to strengthen insight into obstacles against and motivation for wellness. Through these insights, we can better work to get “unstuck.”
Many of my individual clients arrive feeling overwhelmed by deep emotions that have been avoided for years. They can seem like a network of poisonous roots: hidden, somehow connected, popping up everywhere in painful ways. Generally, people feel stuck.
I believe that authenticity is the gateway to wellness. However, being overtly oneself can be frightening and a process in and of itself. I aim to gently guide your journey inward, towards your authentic self and experiences. Together we will shine a light on the dark, avoided spaces within you and tend to them with care.
I support this process through a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental acceptance of the people with whom I work. Together, we will build upon your existing strengths to improve the quality of your relationships with yourself, others, and the world around you.
